I have been reading the book, Classic Yellowstone The Best of the World's First National Park by Susan Neider. It consists of quotes and artwork from some of the park's early explorers and artists seeking to capture its majesty. " We are all overwhelmed with astonishment and wonder at what we have seen, and we feel that we have been near the very presence of the Almighty". Nathaniel Pitt Langford The Discover of Yellowstone Park: Journal of the Washburn Expedition to the Yellowstone and Firehole Rivers in the Year 1870, 1905. Today visitors and artists are still translating the beauty and raw energy of Yellowstone in all sorts of art forms. Over the last 3 years I have been interpreting the more colorful geothermal features of the park using my environmentally responsible compressed fabric technique. I have just finished the 9th in the series which has been submitted for jury into the Governor's Capitol Show here in Cheyenne. If it is accepted it will be on display in early Winter. Numbers 6 through 9 will be hanging in the Clay Paper Scissors Gallery in Cheyenne for the Oct 8th Art Design & Dine tour and through the month of Oct and Nov. If you are in the area I hope to see you at the opening in Oct and Nov 12th
