When I first moved to Wyoming a friend sent me a link to a Garfield spoof about Wyoming. It seemed kind of true at the time since most of my family including my kids didn't have a clue about my new home state! Well no more! Hollywood is putting Wyoming on the map with Pixar's new movie, "The Good Dinosaur". Here's what a Nov. 15th excerpt from the Casper Star newspaper had to say about Pixar's visit: Pixar artists are eager to talk about how Wyoming’s landscape inspired them for “The Good Dinosaur.” Some have already shared the awe they felt when they saw the Tetons, the Grand Prismatic Spring and other features for the first time.“We turned around a corner and I just gasped because I was just struck with the beauty of the color” of the multicolored Yellowstone National Park spring, Sharon Calahan, Pixar’s director of photography for lighting, told the Star-Tribune. In celebration of Wyoming's geology and paleontology and the release of the movie, the University of Wyoming's Geological Museum is putting on an art show. My Hot Yellowstone #6 will be included in this inaugural show. The intersection of art and science...I like it!
