Last February, while completing a residency at the Art Lab in Jackson WY, I got the chance to visit Yellowstone National Park in the winter with my husband Dave. We drove to West Yellowstone Idaho and took a Snow Cat into the park (its one of the few ways you can access the park in the winter) . We drove to Old Faithful with just a few minutes to spare before Old Faithful did its thing. After that we raced over the board walk taking as many pictures of the hot springs as time allowed. About halfway round the boardwalk we scared up a coyote who ran across our path just yards ahead. I'm glad he knew we were harmless artists just enjoying the park! The trip was wonderful and I am so glad Dave and I got to experience it together.
In my studio in Jackson, I had the images developed and put them on a large piece of cardboard. A few days later the Art Lab had an open studio and I asked folks to vote on which image they thought I should tackle next. You can see the hash marks from that evening's vote. It was fun to see what people gravitated towards ( somebody with the initials T.W. cheated and voted more than once)! Now, I need to get off the computer and into the studio to start #9!
